The Opportunity
Our client is a highly regarded, Melbourne-based company with circa $1bn revenues. They are going through an exciting period of growth and innovation with a new software implementation underway, so it’s an interesting time to join the business.
In this position, you’ll use your modelling, analysis and PowerBI visualisation skills to support monthly reporting. The role will also support with continuous improvements, enhancements and driving automation, via the use of PowerBI and data analytics tools.
The role will commence as an initial 12-month fixed term, though due to company growth there’s a good chance the role will become permanent. Candidates with a notice period are very welcome to apply.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Reporting & Analytics Manager, key responsibilities will include:
- Extracting finance data from the system; updating monthly dashboards and creating data visuals in PowerBI
- Providing insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance and trend analysis
- Assisting with the analysis of key drivers of performance to deliver financial reporting to various stakeholder groups
- Driving continuous improvements and automation in PowerBI; managing requests for reports and fixing bugs
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- Degree qualified in IT, Business, Finance or other relevant field
- Additional qualifications in data analytics very highly regarded
- Experience with data analysis and Excel-based modelling; experience working with large datasets/databases
- Knowledge of building dashboards in PowerBI, Tableau or similar
- Experience with SQL and DAX queries good to have
- As the role sits within Finance, finance experience is required, and a full/part CA/CPA qualification will be looked on favourably. There is a significant amount of financial analysis required – it’s critical that you know your way around a P&L!
- Very strong communication skills, willingness to show initiative to contribute to a changing, high performing team environment
